Vienna

Please fill in the following form to let us know of your plans for Vienna.

What we know for now is that ICAN will be hosting a wide programme of events over the weekend of 18 and 19 of June. In order to participate fully in that, you should really plan to be in Vienna on Friday evening. However, if you can only arrive on Saturday or Sunday, that’s also fine.

METO will hold a team-building session some time on Sunday, most likely. This will be separate to any ICAN activities.

On the Monday is the conference organised and hosted by the Austrian Government on the Humanitarian Impacts of Nuclear Weapons. This will be a place where the latest developments from academia and civil society on this topic will be presented.

The Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is dedicated to the meeting of States Parties ot the TPNW. It is likely to be the typical kind of conference with opening statements in a plenary hall and then meetings between diplomats to which hopefully civil society will also be invited.

If you are thinking of coming, but cannot attend 6 days, our recommendation would be to be there for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. This will allow you to experience all aspects of this event.

Fill this form in if you intend to come to Vienna. If this is the case, you should also book your flights and confirm the details with anahita@wmd-free.me and jacob@wmd-free.me.

Sat & Sun - The ICAN Campaigners Conference; Mon - Conference on the Humanitarian Impacts of Nuclear Weapons; Tue, Wed, Thur - Meeting of States Parties to the TPNW
You will need to budget for at least €30 per night.
METO will organise a booking in a hostel in Vienna. We would organise one shared dormitory for women and one for men. For purposes of budgeting, plan for $30 per night, minimum for a room in a hostel.
